To start the process of removing a Chevy Traverse actuator, use a small socket and ratchet to unscrew the bolts that secure the under-dash plastic cover on the passenger side. These bolts may be hard to find, so be diligent in searching for them. After locating and removing all the bolts, carefully pull the cover off from under the dash. This will reveal the heater box with its controls and wiring. So, what exactly is a blend door actuator? Essentially, it consists of an electric motor that rotates a plastic gear set in one direction or the other, linked to an air control door pivot at the end of the unit.
