To reset the adblue on a 2014 VW Passat, start by getting into the car, closing the doors, and inserting the key into the ignition without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal all the way down and hold it for approximately a minute until you see the glow plug blinking. Slowly release the pedal, then turn off the ignition once the pedal is fully back up. This will successfully reset the adblue system.

I tried this out, but I didn't see the glow plug light up. Should I step on the gas pedal all the way or halfway?

To reset the adblue in a 2014 VW Passat TDI, first, switch on the ignition without starting the engine. Press the accelerator pedal and hold it down until the glow plug light comes back on. Once it stops flashing, turn off the ignition. After waiting for 10 seconds, switch the ignition back on and press the gas pedal twice.

My 2014 Passat TDI doesn't have a traditional key ignition, only a push-button start. Since there is no key ignition, how can I reset the adblue light on my car?

I drive a 2014 VW Passat TDI SE, and recently my AdBlue light and check engine light came on. I topped off the AdBlue tank but forgot to do the delayed start. Now it's showing a warning that I have 150 miles left before a no start message appears, with the DEF symbol and a wrench next to it. Any idea how to reset this warning?

I adhered to all the instructions, but unfortunately, the reset process did not succeed.

I tried running the car hard after filling the tank with Blue Def, but it didn't work for me. I also forgot to follow the delayed start procedure. Nonetheless, I was able to resolve the warning by navigating to the adblue status on the dashboard display (which read "No start in 500 miles") and then pressing and holding the 0.0/Set button (a triangular button located on the bottom corner of the dashboard display), which successfully cleared the warning. Since then, the warning has not reappeared.

Due to circumstances, I had to keep driving my 2014 Passat even after refilling the Adblue and running out of miles with the "will not restart" warning coming on from time to time. I took the initiative to do some research, consult a mechanic, and eventually, after driving enough miles, the error codes reset and everything was back to normal. No more warnings or issues, just a reset like it should have been from the start. I made sure to keep the car running until all the warning lights disappeared. Hope this information is helpful!

Verify the diagnostic trouble codes, record the codes, and reset the trouble codes. Then attempt to perform the reset as indicated previously.

The warning on my Passat disappears once I refill the DEF reservoir.
