To reset the alarm on a 2006 Chevy Impala, you have two choices. The first option is to open the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable, keeping it off for approximately 30 minutes. This will help drain the power from the CPU, prompting the system to reset when powered back on. The alternative option is to remove the fuse from the fuse box and wait for a similar amount of time. While both methods achieve the same result, pulling the battery will reset numerous systems, whereas pulling the fuse will only reset the alarm. However, you will need to refer to the fuse diagram to identify the correct fuse to remove.

To reset the system, simply turn the key to the on position and wait for the security light to go out, then turn the key off for ten seconds. You may need to repeat this process three or four times, but it is guaranteed to work.

It will only cease to function if you are unable to power it on again using the analog input.
