To reset the anti-theft system on a 2006 Ford Explorer, you have two options. One is to disconnect the positive battery cable and wait for about 30 minutes before reconnecting it. The other option is to remove the fuse and wait as well. Both methods will cut off power long enough to reset the system. To access the fuse box under the hood of the car, you need to open the hood and secure it in place. Look for a black box along the right side of the engine compartment with a seam around it. Inside, you will find the fuse. Check the diagram on the back of the box for fuse information, or refer to the owner's manual. Once you identify the fuse needed, remove it. If the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is broken, it needs to be replaced. A pack of new fuses costs around 10 dollars, so they are affordable.

To reset the anti-theft system in a 2006 Ford Explorer, follow these steps: Insert your first programmed key into the ignition, turn it to the "on" position, then remove it. Quickly insert the second programmed key within 5 seconds, turn it on and off, and remove it. Within 10 seconds, insert the key you want to program, turn it on for one second, then off. Leave this key in the ignition until the security light turns on, and then remove it to finish the programming process.
