When you start your 2014 Chevrolet Spark with the correct key, the anti-theft system should typically disarm itself. The key contains a transponder that communicates with the immobilizer control unit to disarm the system automatically. If your key is damaged, this automatic disarmament may not happen. If your engine doesn't start and the key seems fine, try using a different ignition key. Lock all the doors, unlock the driver's side, then turn the key to the ON position, off, back on, and off again twice to perform a soft reset. If you still can't start the system, you'll need to visit the local dealership for service and possibly new keys.

To reprogram the security alarm on a 2014 Chevy Spark, make sure all doors are locked, then unlock the driver's side and insert the key into the ignition, turning it to the "on" position. Turn it off and back on twice to reset the alarm. If the immobilizer is not functioning correctly, the alarm will not be operational.
