When troubleshooting the anti-theft system on your Chevrolet Colorado, first ensure that the battery in your remote entry fob is not dead, as this could prevent a normal reset. Additionally, check the battery in your vehicle and inspect for any damage to the immobilizer chip on your key. To reset the system, insert the key into the ignition and turn the car to the accessory position without starting the engine. If the anti-theft light stops blinking, you can then turn the vehicle off and wait a few minutes. If the light continues to blink, wait for it to stop and then proceed with the instructions provided.

Start the engine by turning the key and keep it running for 15 minutes. After that, switch off the key for 30 seconds. Next, turn the key back on for another 15 minutes before turning it off for another 30 seconds.

I've attempted this several times with a new ignition switch installed, but the vehicle is still stuck in theft mode. Do you have any other suggestions or ideas?

This situation keeps occurring, and I understand that waiting for 10 minutes usually helps, but I'm tired of it. I'm wondering if there's a way for me to deactivate this?

Here's a quick guide with no changes... It should only take about 10 seconds. 1. Sit in your car with the door open. Put your key into the ignition but don't turn it yet. You'll hear fast dings, let them go on for 3-4 seconds. 2. Turn the key to the ON position only, do not start the engine. Wait until the dings slow down and the dashboard lights turn off. 3. Finally, turn the key to the START position and start your engine. I hope this information is useful to someone. 🙂

Shake your truck side to side a few times, and it will fire up. I don't know why, but it's worked for me 10 times.

My Colorado acted up again today. I figured out that by turning the key to full start for 15 seconds, then waiting for 10 minutes before starting it up, it solves the issue.

I need to manually lock my door, wait for ten minutes, then unlock it before it will start.

My 2004 Chevy Colorado can start and run, but none of the dashboard indicators are functioning - there are no lights, gas gauge, or windshield wipers working.

I've been experiencing passlock issues with my 2012 Chevy Colorado, happening every other time I start the vehicle. I came across a procedure online that has been effective for me over the past week. The method involves inserting the key into the door, unlocking and holding it for 30 seconds, then releasing and removing it. After getting inside and starting the truck, the process signals to the vehicle that the key is being used for access and ignition, deactivating the anti-theft mode. Some vehicles may not require the full 30 seconds, as you can simply lock and unlock the door with the key before getting in and starting the truck. I've been following these steps with my truck lately, and it has been successful thus far. Wishing you good luck and hope this information is helpful.

Using my key to unlock the door worked this morning, but it's just a temporary fix, not a permanent solution. I'm looking for a way to address this issue permanently.

Sometimes my Colorado won't start, with the red light flashing. To fix it, I turn the switch off for about 10 minutes until the flashing stops, and then the truck starts. This issue doesn't occur every time I try to start the vehicle.

My 2022 vehicle just experienced this issue and is currently undergoing maintenance. They requested both key fobs to investigate the problem further.

In Colorado back in 2016, there was a truck that ran and locked without any issues, but for some reason, the alarm wouldn't arm. Despite ensuring that all doors were securely closed, the alarm still wouldn't trigger, although the truck could still be locked. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

I have an Isuzu i350 that isn't starting up properly. When I try to start it, I only hear a single click and that's it - nothing happens. I've already installed a new starter and replaced the fuses, but the problem persists and the truck still won't start.

My 2004 Chevy Colorado is having trouble starting - it cranks but won't actually start up. What could be the issue?
