Let's go over how to reset the battery monitoring system (BMS) in the Jaguar XF. Before disconnecting the battery, ensure you have the radio code for your XF and a working clock. Once the new battery is installed, set the time and enter your radio code. If you don't have the code, input random values three times to prompt a "PLEASE WAIT" message, then use the backdoor code: press ">>," "PTY," and "A.MEM" simultaneously. Your radio should turn on after a brief wait. Next, reset the EPB by starting the engine and responding to the NOT CALIBRATED or APPLY FOOT AND PARK BRAKE display message on the instrument cluster. Gently press the foot brake and engage the parking brake using the EPB switch. Release the foot brake, and the NOT CALIBRATED message should disappear. Operate the EPB five times to ensure no errors are present. Following this process, the BMS should be back to normal, and the ECM should not show any DTCs.
