In a Lexus LS460, the brake pad wear warning light illuminates to alert you when your brake pads are wearing thin. This light is activated by a built-in electronic sensor within the pads. Once the pads wear down and the sensor touches the rotor, it triggers the light to come on. The only way to extinguish the warning light is to install new brake pads equipped with a fresh wear sensor and connect the wiring. This system was created to remind you to replace your brake pads when necessary, so there's no quick fix to simply switch it off.
I replaced the brake pads along with both sensors and rotors. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to turn off the warning light.
You must replace the brake pads in order to make this issue disappear.
