There are a couple of ways to reset the check engine light on the 2012 Jeep Liberty. One method is to drive the vehicle for a while and it may go off on its own. Another option is to disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes, then reconnect it. If those methods don't work, you'll need to use a scanner. Locate the port to the right and below the steering column, plug in the scanner, and turn the key to the accessory mode. Use the scanner to select "Erase" and turn off the check engine light. Finally, start the vehicle, and it should be reset.
