If the climate control system in your 2013 Ford Edge isn't functioning correctly, the initial step to take is to reset the system to troubleshoot the issue. This simple task involves pressing and holding down both the climate control power button and the defrost button simultaneously until the system shuts off, and then releasing them. Subsequently, pressing the climate control power button to restart the system should reset it. This process typically resolves any issues with the system's computer and software.

If this method didn't help, try the following steps: Start by pressing the power button, then hold down the defrost button for a couple of seconds. Let go of both buttons, and then press the power button twice to reset it.

I had to switch off my car and put it in the mode where the engine is not running but the radio is on, in order for the reset to be successful. And luckily, it was!

When I first bought my 2013 Edge, the actuator was changed because the air conditioning was only partially cold, this happened three years ago. The same issue has resurfaced now, but I managed to fix it by performing a reset using the mentioned method. To reset, hold down the climate power button and the defrost button located below the touch screen, and then make sure to press the climate power button again for it to be effective. Sometimes I press it 2 or 3 times just to double-check, which might seem funny!

In 2013, my Ford Edge had a Dual Automatic Temperature Control System with MyTemp (non-Sony) that was malfunctioning. One side was blowing hot air while the other side was blowing cold air. I tried various troubleshooting methods suggested, but none of them seemed to work, including pressing and holding the power and defrost buttons simultaneously for more than 10-12 seconds. However, when I released both buttons and then pressed the power button, the system seemed to reset. After a few seconds, I pressed the power button again to turn off the system. Upon restarting it, the issue was resolved and the system was functioning properly.
