The Toyota Tundra's automatic "distance to empty" calculation is determined by various factors like driving conditions, fuel level, and intake. However, most times, the new value ends up being the same as the original. In my 2016 Camry, when I first bought it and filled up the gas tank, it showed 420 miles until empty. Six years later, it only showed 320 miles when I filled it up. I was able to fix this issue by disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and replacing it with a new one. After reconnecting the new battery, the Distance To Empty display started showing the correct mileage just like when the car was new!
