To recalibrate the electronic throttle control in a 2007 Dodge Nitro, first step on the gas pedal all the way down and turn the key to the "on" position, waiting for at least 2 seconds. Press and hold the pedal to the floor for 15 seconds. Next, turn the key to "off" and wait for at least 10 seconds. Turn the key back to "on" and wait for 2 seconds. If this procedure doesn't work, you can use an OBDII diagnostic tool to assist with resetting the electronic throttle. If you don't have one, you can usually borrow an OBD tool from your local auto parts store.
