The 2013 Kia Optima comes with sensors on the wheels that keep track of tire pressure. Proper tire pressure is important for driving safely and getting better gas mileage. To reset the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), first park the car on a level surface and use a gauge to inflate the tires to a pressure of 34-35 PSI. Then, lock the doors, roll up the windows, and turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position. Find the TPMS reset button on the lower right of the steering wheel and press it until the light flashes three times. Start the car, wait for the system to update the pressure readings, and then turn off the ignition. Finally, restart the car and the TPMS warning light should turn off.
