However, if they forget or if you're performing the maintenance yourself, you can manually deactivate it. To do this, start with the vehicle turned off. Press and hold the reset button on the odometer. Turn on the vehicle and then turn it off. Once you've turned it off, release the reset button. You can then start the vehicle as usual, and the maintenance reminder light on the dashboard will be switched off.
