In your Honda CR-V, the maintenance light is a helpful reminder to schedule your next service. Whether it's a simple oil change or a more comprehensive maintenance job, having it done at an authorized mechanic or Honda dealership will reset the light and timer for you. If you choose to tackle the maintenance yourself, you can follow these steps to turn off the light: Turn on the ignition without starting the engine, press the trip reset button until the current Oil Life appears on the display. Hold the button for about 10 seconds, then release it when the display begins to flash. Press and hold it again for 5 seconds until the Oil Life resets to 100%. Finally, turn the car off and back on to confirm that the reset was successful.

To clear the maintenance light on your Honda CR-V, first, turn the car key to the "on" position and then back off. Press and hold the odometer trip reset button while turning the key back to "on." The light should turn off after doing this.

Start by turning the key, accessing the oil life screen, and holding down for ten seconds until "cancel" and "oil life" start blinking. Next, turn the reset button or knob until "oil life" is flashing, then select by pressing again. Finally, hold down for 5 seconds to reset the oil life indicator.

Next to your red maintenance indicator light, there is a slot where you can insert your key and push the button until it resets. I just did this on my 2001 Honda CRV.

Nowhere is there any mention of resetting the CRV diesels from 2014 or 2015, whether they have the 1.6 or 2.2-liter engines. It's frustrating to have to buy a special tool just to perform this task. I'm tired of dealing with these modern cars; I'm considering switching to electric vehicles or reverting back to models from before 2000.

My Honda CRV is displaying a "maintenance required" indicator. What should I do to reset it? Also, the "O/D off" light is on - what steps should I take?
