To reset the oil light on a 2018 Ram 1500, you only need to follow a few simple steps that also apply to the years 2009 through 2018. First, ensure you are parked safely and away from other vehicles. Then, turn the truck to the on position without starting the engine – for push-to-start trucks, just push the ignition button once. With the truck in the on position, use the steering wheel controls to navigate to the "vehicle info screen" on the instrument cluster display. From there, locate the "oil life" option, press the right arrow to reset the oil life, and confirm the reset by scrolling to "ok." Once the reset is complete, the display will show "100% oil life.
