To reset the oil change light on a 2018 Ford Edge, you just need to press the oil life button until the light turns off. However, if you actually need an oil change, the light will come back on. When changing the oil in the car, ensure the vehicle has been turned off and parked for a couple of hours to allow the oil to cool down to prevent burns. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the engine, place a bucket under the plug, and remove it to drain the oil into the pan. Let it drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once drained, replace the plug, then find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the pan with oil to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's better to be slightly under than over, as overfilling can cause leaks and oil burning. Close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
