In your 2011 Ford F-150, the oil life indicator is designed to prompt you about getting your oil changed. Typically, a mechanic or dealership will deactivate this indicator after completing the service. However, if they haven't or if you're performing the maintenance yourself, you can easily reset it. Start by turning the key to the on position without starting the engine. Use the control pad on the steering wheel to navigate to the settings menu, then select vehicle and proceed to the oil life reset option. Set it to 100%, and it will alert you once the oil life decreases, indicating it's time for another change.
