You should only reset the oil life indicator on a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado after changing the oil, as this important reminder is there for a reason. Continuing to use old or dirty oil can lead to long-term problems. To reset the oil life, you have two options. First, you can use an OBD-II scan tool with oil life reset function. If you don't have this tool, you can insert your key and turn it to the "RUN/ON" position without starting the engine. Then, press the second button from the top on your info center located next to the steering column (which shows a car symbol) until "OIL LIFE" appears on the display. Finally, press and hold the RESET button on your info center (marked with a checkmark symbol) until the display reads "100 PERCENT.
