To reset the oil life indicator on your 2019 Ram 1500, start by turning the ignition key to the on position and gently pressing the gas pedal three times. However, this won't permanently reset it if you need an oil change. When changing the oil in the vehicle, ensure that the car has been parked and turned off for a few hours to avoid getting burned by hot oil. Locate the oil pan in the engine compartment and find the drain plug underneath. Place a bucket underneath, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain into the bucket until it stops dripping, which may take about an hour. Once it's done draining, replace the plug, find the oil fill port on top of the oil pan, and use a funnel to fill it up to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's okay to be slightly under the full mark, but overfilling can cause leaks and oil burning. After filling the oil pan, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
