To reset the oil life on a 2008 Honda CR-V, first turn the car to the "run" position without starting the engine. Next, press and hold the select/reset knob until the engine life is shown on the display. Hold down the select/reset button for at least 10 seconds until the indicator and maintenance codes begin to blink. Then, press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds to make the maintenance codes vanish and reset the oil life to 100%. Finally, simply turn off the car. The CR-V requires 4.4 quarts or 4.2 liters of 5W-20 oil for each oil change, recommended every 5,000 to 7,500 miles along with a new filter.
