If you've already performed an oil change on your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (don't forget the filter), but the reminder light is still on, here's how to reset it. Use the buttons on the lower spokes of your steering wheel. Turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Press the FUEL button until you see the OIL LIFE displayed on the instrument cluster. Once that appears, hold down the ENTER button. You'll notice the words "Change Engine Oil" flashing, followed by the "Oil Life Reset" message for about 15-20 seconds. Once the Engine Oil Life reads 100%, you're all set. You can turn off the ignition and continue with your day, knowing you won't have to repeat this process for another 3,000 miles.
