Resetting the oil light is a simple process that only takes about 6 to 11 minutes of your time. Begin by going to the driver's side of your vehicle and entering the car. Then, check the display screen of your infotainment system, positioned at the center of your dashboard between the steering wheel and glove compartment. Press the setup button on the display screen, holding it for two to three seconds before letting go. Adjust the oil life to your preferred setting, and press reset once more. The oil light will turn off, and your oil life will be successfully reset.
To change the oil light on a 2006 Ford Fusion, first turn the vehicle on without starting the engine. Next, press and hold the reset button until the oil life indicator reaches 100%.
