To reset the oil light on a 2013 Subaru Outback, first start the engine. Once the idle has evened out, press and hold the brake pedal. The following steps should be done within 4 seconds of each other. Activate the rear window defogger and then turn on the parking lights. After that, deactivate the rear window defogger and then turn off the parking lights, repeating the process once more before releasing the brake pedal. The glow warning light will blink for five seconds to confirm the oil reset. After waiting 30 seconds, turn off the ignition. This procedure should only be conducted after completing an oil change and replacing the filter.
