Resetting the security system of your 2002 Dodge Ram is a simple process that can be completed in just a few minutes. To begin, head to the driver's side of your vehicle and enter it. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position without starting the engine. Wait approximately ten to twelve minutes until the light starts flashing and then stops. Turn the key back to the off position and wait for 5 to 7 minutes before starting the engine. Once you start the engine, the security system should be successfully reset.

I'm currently facing a frustrating situation where the button on the hood of my truck is an aftermarket addition and doesn't work as intended. The problem arose when I accidentally left the car on while testing it with my computer. Now, the factory alarm system in my Dodge won't reset no matter what I try. If my next attempt fails, I'll have to remove the aftermarket alarm.
