I own a 2016 Volvo XC60 with an electric sunroof. I also faced a problem with the sunroof not closing properly. After talking to an expert, I learned about a Master reset. I followed the steps and it fixed the issue. To do the reset, turn on the ignition, fully open the sunroof, then close it while keeping your finger on the button for 30 seconds after it's shut. This Master reset effectively resets the sunroof and it does the trick.
