To turn off the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light on a 2016 Kia Sportage, first check that all four tires have the correct pressure, as indicated on the placard on the door jamb. After confirming the tire pressure, engage the parking brake and turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. Look for the TPMS reset button below the steering wheel and press it, holding it down until the light on the instrument panel blinks three times. Wait a few minutes for the signals from all four sensors to be received by the ECU, which will then deactivate the light. If the light remains on, drive the vehicle for at least 10 minutes at speeds above 30 mph. If the light persists, repeat the process or use an OBD-II scan tool to reset each sensor individually.
