The 2012 Hyundai Elantra comes with a tire pressure monitoring system that alerts you if it detects low tire pressure. When a tire is five pounds below the recommended pressure, the sensor sends a signal and illuminates the TPMS light. Once you inflate the tires to the factory recommended 32 psi and drive a few miles, the light should turn off. In some cases, you may need to slightly over-inflate the tires by five psi for the light to go off. If the TPMS light is blinking, there may be a system issue that requires a diagnostic scan to identify. Most of the time, a weak battery in one of the TPMS sensors, which typically lasts up to 10 years, is the cause. The diagnostic scan will pinpoint which sensor needs replacing.

To reconfigure the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra, ensure that the tire pressure is accurate, start the car, and press the reset button located on the right side of the steering wheel. Wait for ten minutes. If needed, press and hold the button until the light blinks. If the sensor malfunctions, it might be due to incorrect tire pressure, affecting the car's performance.

It can be found somewhere below the steering wheel. Turn the ignition switch to the on position. Keep pressing the button until the light blinks. Then start the engine and wait for 20 minutes.

It's located on the steering column, not below it.
