To reset the tire pressure monitoring system in a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, begin by checking the recommended tire pressure, which can be found on a label inside the driver's side door jamb. To initiate the reset process, turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine. Simultaneously press the Lock and Unlock buttons on your remote keyless entry for five seconds. Look and listen for confirmation - you should hear two horn beeps and see a message that reads "TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE" on the display. This indicates the reset has begun. Activate each sensor by removing the valve cap from a tire and adjust the pressure until the horn emits a chirp. Start with the front driver's side tire and work your way clockwise around the vehicle. Once you've reset all tires, turn off the ignition, and the message on the display should disappear. Ensure that all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure shown on the label and drive the vehicle for at least 10 minutes at speeds over 30 mph.

To recalibrate the tire pressure sensors on your 2009 Chevy Silverado, follow these steps:
    1. Make sure the parking brake is engaged and turn the ignition to the on position (engine off).
    2. Hold down the unlock and lock buttons on the keyless entry transmitter until you hear the horn sound and the left front turn signal lights up.
    3. Adjust the tire pressure of the left front tire until you hear the horn sound.
    4. Repeat the process for the right front, right rear, and left rear tires in that order, with the horn sounding twice after adjusting the left rear tire.
    5. Turn the ignition off to exit the vehicle learn mode and adjust all tires to the pressure specified on the placard.

Make sure to replace your sensors if they are more than 4 years old when you purchase new tires.
