Resetting the trip odometer on the Mazda3 is a quick and easy task. Locate the "trip" stick on the instrument cluster, typically situated near the mileage display. Press the trip button to cycle through "trip a", "trip b", and the option without either label. Choose either trip a or trip b, then hold down the button for a few seconds to reset the miles to 0. This is a helpful way to monitor mileage for specific time periods.
To reset the trip mileage in a Mazda 3, hold down the INFO button for 1.5 seconds to clear the current information. Next, the vehicle's miles per gallon will show for about a minute before updating with the recalculated fuel efficiency data.
