To reset the anti-theft system on your Chevy Silverado, start by entering the vehicle and locking all the doors. Next, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position. Allow it to remain in this position for 5 minutes until the anti-theft light flashes. After the light blinks, turn the key to the off position and then back to the on position. Wait for a minute for it to blink again before repeating the process of turning it off and on one more time. When the light blinks for the third time, you can start the engine. This will indicate that the anti-theft system has been successfully reset.

I own a 2006 Chevy Silverado LT and recently installed a new battery. However, I'm encountering issues where I need to jump-start it frequently. I've noticed a new light indicating a security problem, and it seems like there might be a short in the light switches that is affecting my gauges. Despite these problems, my truck has been reliable with 200,000 miles on it, needing only batteries, brake pads, one full brake job, window switches, and AC repairs. The blower won't stop unless I pull the relay. Any suggestions or advice? I believe the key to its longevity has been the lifetime oil change option I purchased. Thank you. - MT

To reset the anti-theft system on a Chevy Silverado, you can turn the key to the on position until the yellow lock light on the instrument panel turns off, which usually takes about 10 minutes. Then, turn the key off and repeat this process two more times. After completing three cycles, remove the key and reinsert it.
