To disable the anti-theft system in your 2008 Ford F-350, you must reset it before starting the vehicle. To do this, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position without starting the engine. Look for the anti-theft light on the display, which may blink or remain solid. Keep the key in the ON position with the doors closed for 10 minutes. The light may turn off at this point. If it doesn't, turn the ignition off and repeat the process. Sometimes, you may need to do this up to three times. Remember, you won't be able to start the engine while resetting the system. If you're still experiencing issues, you'll need to schedule a service appointment at a dealership.

I've had some issues with my 2008 F350 in the past, especially when trying to start it and only seeing the seat belt light on the instrument cluster. The problem usually turned out to be a weak battery. This truck seems to go through batteries quite often. But this recent incident was different and left my truck out of commission for over a month. I tested the voltage on both batteries and they were showing 12.5 volts or higher, not ideal but not necessarily bad. I decided to replace the battery with the lower reading, based on my previous experiences. After trying various tips and suggestions from tech forums and videos, with no success, I came across a solution from Michelle T. on December 14, 2020, which actually worked. One additional step I took was rolling down the driver's window before starting the recommended process, so I could easily turn the key off at the end without opening the door. Initially, I only saw the seatbelt symbol on a black screen, but during the first 10-minute session, different symbols on a green background appeared and disappeared. After completing the second 10-minute session, the entire cluster was back to normal and I heard the fuel linkage reset. I was able to start the truck successfully after that. I should note that I had replaced both batteries with new ones and fully charged them before following Michelle's instructions. I know how frustrating it can be for other Ford owners facing similar issues, so I wanted to share my successful experience.
