It is a common issue to have a stuck coolant cap on the Ford Focus line. If your truck is still under warranty or if you take it to an authorized Ford dealer, they may assist you for free. If not, there are some things you can try at home. First, firmly press down on the cap while attempting to remove it. If that doesn't work, you can try using a prybar and wrench to get a better grip. Additionally, applying a lubricant like WD40 can help. Spray it around the cap's edges and allow it time to penetrate the seal. If these methods are unsuccessful, you may need to bring it to a mechanic, although they may charge a fee for this service.
If you can't unscrew the coolant cap, you can try lifting it with two screwdrivers or any other metal tool.
To take off the damaged coolant cap, press down as you twist the cap to the left.
Consider abandoning your loyalty to Ford after three decades and purchasing a Chevrolet instead.
It's a known problem with certain Ford Focus cars to have a stubborn coolant cap that may be covered under warranty for free repairs. In addition to that option, you can also apply silicone lubricant along the cap's edges and allow it to seep in before attempting to open it again.
