Here's a simple way to bypass the alarm on the Honda CR-V if you really want to turn it off. First, open the hood and locate the battery in the engine compartment. Disconnect the negative battery cable and close the hood. Next, manually lock the door and shut it. Your Honda will now be locked without the alarm being triggered. Another option to protect your car, especially if you're away for long periods, is to have a protective dog with you who doesn't like strangers. If you're working from home during the pandemic, some drivers have even found hiding with a baseball bat in the bushes to be an effective theft deterrent.
To prevent the alarm from arming on a Honda CR-V, simply press the door lock button on the door and then close it.
