To set up your Ford Escape's garage door opener, start by turning on the car. Hold your existing remote close to the Homelink button you want to use for your garage door. Next, press both the remote button and the Homelink button until the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a rapid one. Hold down the Homelink button you selected for five seconds, then let go. If the garage door doesn't move, repeat the five-second hold. The programming is finished when the indicator light stays on solid. To open the garage door, simply press and release the Homelink button.

Hold down both the transmitter button and the specific homelink button for the garage door simultaneously. Keep an eye on the homelink system's light. Once it changes from a slow blink to a fast blink, you can let go of the buttons. Then press and hold just the homelink button for 5 seconds.

Place your garage door opener next to the homelink buttons. Hold down both the opener and homelink button until the homelink button starts blinking quickly. Next, continue holding the homelink button, and your garage door will open after 5 seconds.
