To remove the battery in your 2017 Ford Edge, you'll need tools such as an 8mm socket, a 10mm socket or wrench, and a 1/4" drive ratchet. Start by opening the hood and heading to the right side of the engine bay (driver's side). The battery is situated to the right of the brake fluid reservoir, behind the engine air filter box, and next to the front driver side suspension assembly. Use an 8mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet to loosen the hold-down bar bolt by turning it counterclockwise. Additionally, loosen the nut on the negative and positive terminals by several turns in a counterclockwise direction using a 10mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet. Remember, you only need to loosen the nut enough for the terminal to be pulled off, not fully remove it.
