Replacing the security pad on your 2013 Ford Explorer may seem challenging, but with some familiarity with vehicles, you should be able to tackle it in an afternoon. Keep in mind that the Securicode system is specific to Ford, so opt for a replacement part made by the same manufacturer to ensure proper function. Begin by taking off the interior trim of the door that needs the new pad. Inside, you will find the four bolts securing the keypad; remove these along with the electrical connector, then carefully push the pad outwards. It might require some effort, but once it comes free, you can install the new one following a similar process to removal.
I'm not certain if I should visit the dealership.
