The 2017 Ford Transit 250 needs regular maintenance for its braking system. When replacing a rear brake rotor, start by taking off the caliper. To do this, loosen and remove the two upper and lower bolts that hold it in place, which can be found underneath the vehicle and inside the wheel hub. Once the caliper is free, take out both brake pads. The inner pad has a pin that connects to the piston, while the outer pad doesn't have a pin. Use a 19/32 wrench to remove the two bolts on the caliper bracket and then the 5 bolts holding the axle to the rotor. Position a drain pan under the axle to catch any gear oil and slide the axle out of the hub. Finally, twist and slide off the rotor.
