In order to take out the alternator from a 2011 Ford Taurus, start by using a socket wrench to disconnect the negative battery cable. Next, loosen the tension on the accessory drive belt to remove it from the pulley. Then, remove the mounting bolt on the right side of the alternator and the bracket for the power steering hose. Proceed by removing the mounting bolts on top of the alternator, as well as the front passenger wheel and tire assembly, and the front fender splash shield. Use a socket wrench to take off the alternator splash shield and the torque converter inspection cover. Attach a tool to secure the flywheel, allowing you to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and crankshaft pulley. Lower the alternator to disconnect its electrical connections. Finally, disconnect the crankshaft position sensor and Oxygen sensor connector, and remove the lower alternator mounting bolt and B+ connector nut to complete the alternator removal process.
