Removing the water pump in a 2013 Ford Escape is a challenging task that involves several steps. Firstly, you must detach the timing cover located at the back of the engine. Following this, the timing belt, responsible for operating both the camshafts and the water pump, must be removed. After the belt is out, disconnect the water pump lines and secure them. Then, unscrew the bolts fastening the water pump to the engine. Due to the challenging access at the lower section of the engine, this project typically consumes several hours.
