Disabling the door ajar alarm in a Ford Explorer does not have an official procedure. However, you can access the module controlling it by opening the car's dashboard and removing it, or alternatively, locate and pull out the fuse powering it. To reach the fuse box, look for a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dash, then use a screwdriver or prybar to open it. Inside, you will find various fuses; refer to the diagram on the back of the panel or consult the owner's manual to identify the correct fuse. Pull out the malfunctioning fuse, identified by a broken strip connecting the two sections, and replace it if necessary. Replacement fuses are inexpensive at around $10.
