This will enable them to identify the trouble code and pinpoint the problem area. Once you are aware of the problem, you can proceed with getting it fixed, which will in turn deactivate the light. It's advisable to first check the gas cap and fuel door though. If the cap is missing or the door is open, the light will come on. This is a trivial matter to take to the mechanic, so ensure you check this beforehand.

To turn off the maintenance light on a 2007 Lexus RX 350, start the car with the engine off and press the odo/trip button until the odometer displays all zeros and the maintenance light goes out.
