If the backup sensors on your Chevy Silverado are too sensitive while you are reversing, you can disable them. To do so, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position without starting the engine. Once your vehicle is powered on, press the config button on your stereo and navigate to the car options menu. Within the options, you will find a setting for the parking assistance system that allows you to toggle it on or off. While the parking sensors are meant to assist you in reversing safely, they may become bothersome if you often back up in confined spaces, prompting you to deactivate them.
