To stop the seat belt alarm in your Ford Escape, follow these steps: Sit in the driver's seat, turn off the engine, remove the key, and engage the parking brake. Unbuckle the seat belt and insert the key into the ignition. Turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine. Wait for about 60 to 90 seconds for the seat belt light to go off. Next, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt three times. Check the odometer. The warning light will come back on and then go off again. As soon as it turns off, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt once more.
