The 2017 Ford Explorer features a seatbelt reminder alarm that will sound if the seatbelt is not fastened. If you find this alarm bothersome, you can deactivate it by following a simple process. First, ensure your vehicle is in the on position without the engine running. Wait until the seatbelt warning light on the dashboard goes off. Then, buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times, concluding with it being unbuckled. This action will silence the alarm, no longer reminding you to fasten your seatbelt. Remember, it's still important for your safety to always wear your seatbelt while driving.
Attempt to insert the key into the ignition without turning it on. After one minute, until the seat belt reminder light turns off, pause for an additional 5 seconds. Proceed to fasten and unfasten the seat belt three times, with the final step being in the unfastened position. Finally, fasten and unfasten the seat belt one more time.
