The 2014 Ford Explorer is equipped with a seatbelt alarm that activates when the vehicle is in motion over 5 miles per hour and the seatbelt is not fastened. To deactivate the alarm system and stop the chime, you can follow these steps. Buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt nine times, pausing when unbuckled. Then, toggle the headlights on and off using the switch. Resume the process of buckling and unbuckling the seatbelt nine times, stopping when it's unbuckled. This will disable the seatbelt reminder chime. To re-enable it, just repeat the same steps.

To deactivate the "seat belt reminder" feature, follow these instructions within one minute: fasten and unfasten the seat belt nine times, finishing with it unfastened. Switch the headlights on and off, then repeat the process of fastening and unfastening the seat belt nine times, ending with it unfastened. Once the seat belt warning light comes on, fasten and unfasten the belt one final time.
