To reset the vehicle's anti-theft system, you should enter the car and close the doors. Next, insert the key into the ignition and turn it on, then back off. Repeat this process 8 more times in under 12 seconds. On the final time, leave the key in the on position. Wait for about 5 minutes for the anti-theft light to blink. Once it blinks, start the engine to complete the reset. If the engine doesn't start, it means you didn't turn the key on and off fast enough.

To deactivate the anti-theft system in Ford vehicles, start by unlocking the driver's door with the key and turning the ignition switch to the on position. If this method is not successful, try rolling up all windows and locking the driver's door using the key.

After watching numerous YouTube videos and reading countless blogs for the past month, I was about to give up until I came across this solution. To reset the anti-theft system in your vehicle, first enter the car and close all doors. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it on, then back off. Repeat this process eight more times, completing it within 12 seconds. On the final turn, leave the key in the on position. Wait about 5 minutes for the anti-theft light to blink, then start the engine to complete the reset. If the engine doesn't start, you likely didn't turn the key on and off quickly enough.

I own a 1999 Mustang GT and am experiencing a similar issue with the theft light. The trick that works for me is to tilt the steering wheel all the way down before attempting to start the car. The wires can get loose from adjusting the steering wheel position. This method has consistently worked for me. Best of luck to you!
