In your Honda CR-V, there's a hidden internal handle in the trunk for added safety. Most people don't know it's there, but it lets you open the trunk from inside the car. To find it, hop into the back seat and remove the plastic cover over the trunk lock in the center of the tailgate. Underneath, you'll find a lever that, when engaged, lets you open the tailgate from inside. Just remember, on some models leaving the lever engaged might prevent you from locking the trunk with the central locking system. So don't forget to reset it after closing the trunk.
It is impossible to unlock the tailgate of a Honda CR-V from inside the car.
Press and hold the button inside the car for an extended period of time.
I believe there's a simpler way to unlock the Honda CR-V. I came across an article a few days back that showed me how to do it more easily. If you're having trouble, you should check it out at https://itsengine.com/how-to-open-honda-cr-v-tailgate-from-inside/
