To open the hood of the 2016 Ford Escape, you simply follow these steps that are similar to most other vehicles. Begin by getting into the driver's seat and locating the lever near the door in the driver's foot area. Pull the lever, which will make a clicking sound. Then, go to the front of the car where the hood is partially open. Reach into the gap with your left hand, between the grille and the Ford emblem, and locate a latch release that you push to the right to fully open the hood. Finally, lift the hood and access the engine compartment.

To pop open the hood, first, open the driver's side door and locate the hood release lever on the side of the dashboard by the door. Pull the lever, then lift the hood while simultaneously pulling the secondary latch located in the middle of the hood.

I own a 2016 Escape. The one on my hood is positioned on the left side above the headlight. It's such an unusual placement.
