The 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring and Elite models are equipped with a hands-free access feature that allows you to open and close the power tailgate using a kicking motion under the rear bumper. Simply approach the back of the Odyssey with the smart entry remote, kick under the bumper to trigger the sensor, and the tailgate will open while the taillights flash. To close the tailgate, use the same kicking motion. It's important to kick directly upward towards the sensor and quickly withdraw your foot straight down, like you're kicking a field goal, stopping just before making contact with the vehicle.

To open the trunk of a Honda Odyssey, simply press the trunk-release button located on the driver's side. If needed, you can also use the master key to unlock the trunk lock. To securely close the trunk, gently push down on the trunk lid. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the rear spoiler, as this could potentially cause damage to it.
